In-house Engineering and Medical Preparation
The Tutorial and Coaching Division of Gurukul Sikshyayotan Group conducts both Full time and Short term courses leading to preparation for Engineering and Medical Entrance Examinations. The name of the courses are “Target Engineering & Target Medical”. We have been conducting these courses since 2007 with our experienced faculty members. We also provide extensive study material in printed form. From this year onwards we are planning to provide soft copies of study materials as well.
Our Passed out students pursuing the above courses are presently studying at IIT-Guwahati, NIT-Trichy, NIT-Silchar, Assam Medical College, Jorhat Engineering College, Assam Engineering College, Tezpur University, NEHU (Shillong), UPES (Dehradun), East Point (Bangalore) etc. our College students can avail these in-house opportunities with discount course fee.
Audio Visual Multi-media Class Room
We have tried to provide some of the most modern facilities to the students which are of national/ international level and thereby increase the ease of learning. “Audio-Visual Multimedia Classroom” facility is one of them.
It is a well known and accepted fact that “Seeing is believing”. Thus classes becomes more interactive and complicated facts become easily understandable, through a visual demonstration.
The complicated topics of Physics, Chemistry, Economics etc. will be taught by making “Power-Point presentation” & “Flash/ Real videos”.
Computer Centre
The College has a well equipped Computer Centre where the students can practice. Students can take computer science as one of the subjects.
Internet facility will also be provided at the Computer Centre.
Well Equipped Laboratory
The College is equipped with separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each laboratory is provided with sufficient numbers of scientific equipments and chemicals so that each student can get maximum exposure for conducting experiments. The necessary safety precautions in the laboratory are strictly monitored.
The “fire-extinguisher” is placed in the Chemistry laboratory to ensure safety.
Library Facility
The College is gifted with a well-furnished library.
Library Rules:
All Students of the College are members of the College Library by virtue of the library fees they pay along with the tuition fees.
Every Student using the college Library will be given library cards. The Higher Secondary 1st year students will be given 1 (One) library card. On the other hand, Higher Secondary 2nd year students will be given 2 (Two) library cards.
Students will be entitled to keep a book for 2 (two) weeks i.s. 14 (fourteen) days from the date of issue. At the end of the period it shall be returned to the Library. But it may be re-issued to the same person if it is not wanted by someone else. When re-issued, the book may be retained for a further period of one week. The Librarian may recall a book at any time in case of urgency.
A student failing to return a book on the due date will be fined a minimum of Rs.20.00.
When returning a book the borrower must take his/her library card. Other wise he/she will be held responsible for the book.
The students are not entitled to borrow a book against the library cards of others. Otherwise he/she will be punished or fined.
Final year students must return their library books along with the library cards before filling up the Examination form, failing which they will be treated as defaulters and fined.
Books have to be replaced if lost or damaged. Students found mutilating Library books will be subject to disciplinary action.
The day and time for borrowing books for students are as in the following manner.
Day I – For all H.S. 2nd Year (Science Students)
Day III – For all H.S.2nd Year (Arts Students)
Day IV – For all H.S. 1st Year (Science Students)
Day VI- For all H.S. 1st Year (Arts Students)
Timing for issuing books- 11 A.M. to 3 P.M.
Hostel Facilities
The College allots separate private hostels for boys and girls at walking distance from the college. All boarders are to maintain strict discipline as per the hostel rules. Violation will invite punitive action even to the extent of expulsion from hostel and college.
Every money must be cleared initially.
First and last months’ hostel dues must be cleared at the time of Hostel admission.
Every month’s hostel dues must be cleared within 10th of the running month.
Scholarships and Other Grants
The meritorious students having excellent results will be given scholarships from college fund. There is also provision for financial help to the economically backward meritorious students. In both the cases the quantity and amount will be decided by the College authority and in these respects their decision will be final.
