Admission Procedure

Application for admission into the College should be made in the prescribed application form issued by the college office on payment of Rs. 150/- only. Admission in to the College is made strictly in order of merit and is governed by the college admission rules. Principal’s decision regarding admission is final. Candidates are required to produce at the time of interview the original copies of the following documents.
  1. Marksheet of the last qualifying examination.
  2. Age certificate.
  3. Character certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended, and
  4. Caste certificate wherever necessary.
All candidates must submit attested copies of (a), (b), (c), and (d) and three nos. of photographs. Announcement regarding the commencement of regular classes will be made on the date of admission itself. Students who fail to get promotion may also apply for admission along with the fresh applicants. Students detained  in a class for two consecutive years will not be admitted to the regular classes of the college. There is a provision for reservation of seats for students belonging to SC, ST (P), ST (H), OBC/MOBC categories as per Govt. rules. Relaxation of fees will be granted to those students coming from economically weak families having distinction-oriented results. A transfer student will be accepted only after the fulfillment of criteria and subject to the availability of seats. Transfer certificate will be issued to any student only after clearing of all dues. A processing fee of Rs.100/- will be charged.
Combination of Subjects for Science Stream
  • English is compulsory.
  • A student must select Modern Indian Language (Assamese) or Alternative English.
  • A Student can select a maximum of four and minimum of three elective subjects from the following list of subjects.
  1. Physics (PHYS)
  2. Chemistry ( CHEM)
  3. Mathematics (MATH)
  4. Biology (BIOL)
  5. Statistics(STAT)
  6. Computer Science. (CSCA)

Combination of Subjects for Arts Stream
  • English is compulsory.
  • A student must select Modern Indian Language (Assamese) or Alternative English.
  • A student can select maximum of four and minimum of three elective subjects from the following list of subjects.
  1. (ECON)
  2. Political Science (POSC)
  3. History (HIST)
  4. Mathematics (MATH)
  5. Logics and Philosophy (LOPH)
  6. Education (EDUC)
  7. Sociology (SOCI)
  8. Advanced Assamese (Adv. Ass.)
  9. Statistics (St)
  10. Computer Science (C. Sc.)

Note for Science Stream Students: For the Engineering Entrance Examinations, the combination must be PCM and for most of the Medical Entrance Examinations, the combination must be PCB.
